31 Things

I feel like I am so blessed for everything in my life; my sweetheart of a husband, my beautiful, healthy kids, and for relationships with all my friends and family. Here are 31 random things that you may or may not know about me on my 31st birthday!
  1. I am the 2nd oldest of a blended family of 14 kids. My mom and dad had 8, then divorced. My mom married David who had 1, then they had 4 more. My dad married Stacy and had 1 so 8+1+4+1=14!

  2. I am pretty unorganized (mostly in my scrapbook room) but I know where everything is!!

  3. My favorite room to clean is the bathrooms because it is so sparkly when you are done.

  4. I always wanted to be a cheerleader in highschool but never tried out because I didn't know how to dance and was scared of not making the cut and the rejection!

  5. I never thought in a million years that we would have twins. It never crossed my mind that it was even a possiblility. I thought you had to take fertility drugs or have a history of twins to get them. Needless to say, it has been one of the hardest and funnest years of my life. I have definitely lowered my expectations of a clean house and really learned to enjoy and appreciate the simple things.

  6. I love getting pedicures. I would love to splurge and get one every month but it never works out that way. I just had one the other day (the last time was in February) and I can't stop looking at my feet!! Love it.

  7. I love to scrapbook but never have time to do it for myself. I am always working on a project for someone else, which I love too! I have TONS 0f pages made up with NO pictures on them. One of my many goals this year is to actually put the pictures on the pages and get my kids scrapbooks up to date.

  8. Holy smokes, I am only on #8, this is going to be a long post! It is no secret that I love to talk!

  9. I don't really like to cook but...

  10. I LOVE to bake!

  11. I love when there is no TV on in the house. I have never been a big TV watcher and the sounds of it on just drive me nuts. (especially when no one is watching it!) That said, I do like to watch American Idol (we'll see if I am still a fan with Simon gone) and just got into Dancing with the Stars this past season.

  12. I borrow clothes from my mother in law. I love how stylish she is and she always has the perfect accessories for any outfit.

  13. I don't enjoy running but I have always wanted the nice trim, perfectly tone runner legs so I occasionally try to run for that reason only!

  14. I love helping out at the school and can't wait until I am a teacher.

  15. I miss working at Costco. But, I shop there enough to make up for it!

  16. I love being a part of the LDS church and the peace it brings me in my life. I especially love Relief Society. I have the best calling EVER... Activity Days Leader!

  17. I love that my husband gives me today off of changing diapers, well today and Mothers Day that is... love that man, he just bathed Brielle after a serious blow out!

  18. I love eating popcorn with a big glass of milk. YUM.

  19. I had shock therapy for depression 5 yrs ago. I am so thankful for great doctors!

  20. I just asked Ethan if there is anything about me that most people don't know and he said this: "That you know a lot of tricks about math and that you are a teacher, a Stampin' Up teacher." Seriously, love that kid.

  21. I really like music, my favorite bands are probably Green Day and Dave Matthews Band. I also love Celine Dion but Jared can't stand it so I never listen to her anymore!! I think I just might today since it is my bday and all! (And have you heard, Celine is expecting twins with her outrageously old husband? Go Celine!)

  22. My favorite vacation spots are: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (we are saving up for our 10 yr!), Bear Lake and Lake Powell.

  23. I appreciate college and pro sports. Don't know much about them but always got a kick out of my Dads love for them. Watch out when his team was behind! I will always be a Utah Jazz fan but am still in denial that Korver is gone, now who is going to be our 3 pt shooter? I wish they could just win a playoff so Jerry Sloan can retire.

  24. I started working when I was 14 at Rocky Mountain Drive Inn because my friend, Susans' parents owned it. (I think I made 3.50-$4 an hour) When I was 15, I worked at Albertsons (making a whopping $4.25/hr) as a food sampler and at Central Park (a burger joint across the street from Provo High). Man, minimum wage has improved a lot in 17 years! Other jobs: Comp USA, a Mexican restaraunt, Integrated Technologies, House Cleaner, Costco, hmm, I think that is it. I guess you can't really call being a Stampin' Up demonstrator a job, that would be more of a hobby!

  25. I bought my first car, a white Ford Escort from my brother, Mike. I thought is was the most pimpin' car around! It was stick shift, had a bra on it, a bike rack, and can't forget the blue pin stripe down the side.

  26. I am not scared of getting old, just scared of looking old!
  27. Some of my favorite childhood memories are when me and my brothers and sisters would ride our bikes to the Texaco to buy penny candies, fight over who got to ride in the trunk of my moms red car (it was usually me and Mike, so illegal, I can't believe she let us!), and all the fun road trips to Star Valley and St. George. I just love my brothers and sisters!
  28. Okay this is getting really hard, 3 more things, then I NEED to shower before my birthday is over!! ... When I was pregnant with Ethan, I ate a Peanut butter & jelly sandwich religiously every day for lunch.
  29. Fran (my awesome MIL) was the first person to find out I was pregnant with Lydia. I had some blood work done at her work because I wasn't feeling well, they were checking on my thyroid levels. She called and told Jared, so I was the 3rd person to find out! What a total shocker. At my first doctor appt, (16 weeks) they told me she was a girl. She is such an angel, so glad we have her free spirit to keep us on our toes!
  30. Jared and I carved our names in a tree in Maple Canyon for my 19th birthday. I think that was about the time we started dating "exclusively!" I am so happy. I couldn't imagine ME without HIM.
  31. I am so happy to be done with this. Guess I will chalk this whole post to a journal entry, since I have been slacking in the journal writing department.

Have a fabulous day, did you know you get a free slurpee at 7-11 today?!

BeAr LaKe FuN!

I am slightly behind in the blogging world. But, now that school is out, I am hoping to catch up! Here are some of my faves from Bear Lake last month.
Lydia loves any chance she can get Jared to take her on a ride. And the fellar, well, his smile says it all!

There's the Asher Roos on her FIRST swing ride! I have been avoiding the swings for so long, but finally caved in!!

The Ethan boy with his Grandpa. They are 2 of a kind, so thoughtful, friendly, and easy to be around.

The whole fam. (minus Austen, he'll be home from Cambodia in October.) Such a fun family, so happy to be a part of it. Love them!

The Bella Roos always has something in her mouth; dirt, rocks, water bottle lids, elastics, pretty much anything and everything. I love her little bikini!

I just love my little family. We had such a blast hanging out. Bear Lake has got to be one of my favorite vacation spots for sure.

Lydia, Abby and Nixon watching the boys hit golf balls into the water. LOVE it!

Awe. Love this. I am amazed by the love Jared has for his little girls.

Fran and Katie watched all the kiddos while we went on a motorcycle ride. It was the first time I have ever gone and it was a blast. Now I want to learn how to ride! Someday right?

How I love these girlies. Seriously, can't get enough of them. They are contagious.

I love this picture of all the grandkids with Todd and Fran. They are the best grandparents a kid could ask for.

Ha ha. This pic cracks me up. Lovin' the brotherly love!

There's my little water babe. She justs loves to swim. Who would have ever known, she was afraid of the water as a baby up until she was about 2.

Ethan wanted an American birthday party, and an American flag cake. I hope I didn't disappoint by getting a Costco red velvet cake and decorating it with red, white, and blue! He celebrated his 7th birthday the first day we were there. He is such a happy, sweet boy. He is so curious about everything these days, soaking up all sorts of information.

Enjoying a nice little summer sprinkle. Ethan is showing off his new Wii game that he is currently obsessed with (Super Mario Galaxy 2). I just love how everyone looks so happy!
